We are delighted to be stocking Sage Espresso Machine - a fantastic entry level for an aspiring home barista.
The Express Impress is Sage's first ever manual-assisted espresso machine, and we are suitably impressed (no pun intended).
Essentially, the Express Impress takes out some of the more messy aspects of brewing speciality coffee at home, producing a perfect dose (up to 18 grams) in the 54mm stainless steel portafilter basket, which we usually recommend switching out to a VST Basket for best performance level. This is followed by an automatic tamp by the machine itself, saving your wrists, and giving you a consistent tamp, every time - the automatic tamp gives a 10kg force impression.
A technology dubbed by Sage called 'intelligent dosing' is utilised; allowing a read of the dose level dispensed after grinding through the attached conical burr grinder, taking away the need to crack out the kitchen scales for weighing your every dose.
Sage have really pulled a lot of stops out the bag with some clever innovative features, such as a low pressure pre-infusion followed by a 9-bar extraction, PID (digital temperature control) at 93ºC exactly for precise brewing and a powerful steam wand, working at 130ºC for a fast steam, creating micro-foam milk for your flat white, or other milk-based drink.
This machine operates from an 2 litre internal reservoir, so really is plug-in and play.
