Introducing, our first ever Kenyan! It's been a long time coming, but we're finally able to offer our first venture into the volcanic soil rich nation of Kenya.

Kenya is famous for having rich, complex offerings of high-end speciality coffee, distinct to anywhere else worldwide, and we've chosen to select our first from this incredible country from the Karimikui project in Kirinyaga.

Karimikui is the culmination of the work of approximately 3500 small holder producers, all from the Rungeto Farmers Coop Society - each small holder having around a hectare of land, growing coffee and other crops, giving an incredible sense of detail when it comes to hand picking every ripe cherry.

Kenya is well known for having some of the most soil rich earth in the world; down to it's history of volcanic activity coursing through the soil, providing rich nutrients and ideal growth for speciality coffee. The country also benefits from a high altitude, another favourable condition for complex flavour notes in arabica. It really is the perfect storm.

Karimikui is processed as a classic washed process, giving delicate subtlety in the cup. We personally prefer to brew Karimikui as a filter method, in particular pour-over or Aeropress. Notes of Apple, Caramel and Lemon.
